FAQ

Common Questions About Artificial Grass

How long does installation take?

Most residential gardens are done in one to two days. A small front lawn might take half a day; a larger rear garden with groundwork challenges could stretch to three. We confirm the schedule in advance so you can plan around it.

Can you lay artificial grass on concrete or paving?

Yes. We install a foam underlay on hard surfaces to provide cushioning, drainage, and a more natural feel underfoot. It’s a common setup for balconies, patios, and roof terraces.

Is artificial grass safe for dogs?

It is. Our installations drain freely, so urine passes through rather than sitting on the surface. Solid waste is easy to pick up. For homes with multiple dogs or heavy use, we recommend a zeolite-based infill that actively breaks down ammonia and reduces odour over time.

Do I need planning permission?

In most cases, no. Artificial grass is considered a like-for-like replacement for a natural lawn and doesn’t typically require planning consent. However, if your property is listed or in a conservation area, it’s worth checking with your local authority first.

Will it fade in the sun?

All of the grass we supply is UV-stabilised. It won’t bleach or discolour under normal UK sunlight conditions. The manufacturers warrant against UV degradation for the life of the product.

How much does artificial grass installation cost?

As a rough guide, a fully installed artificial lawn in 2025/26 typically costs between £45 and £85 per square metre. That includes all groundwork, materials, waste removal, and fitting. For a 40 square metre rear garden — fairly typical for properties in our service areas — you’d be looking at somewhere between £1,800 and £3,400 for a full supply-and-fit installation.
