QUOTES & SURVEYS
When Your Front Door Stops Working Properly
There’s a particular kind of frustration that comes with a front door that doesn’t work the way it should. You know the sort — the handle you have to lift whilst pushing with your shoulder, the draught that whistles through the seal whenever the wind picks up, the lock that takes three attempts to turn.
You learn to live with it after a while. You compensate, adjust, and eventually stop noticing — until a visitor struggles to get in and you realise just how bad things have actually become.
Doors matter more than most people give them credit for. They’re your home’s main point of entry, its primary security barrier, and one of the biggest sources of heat loss when they’re not doing their job properly. In a park home, where the walls are thinner and the structure lighter than a conventional house, a poorly performing door makes a disproportionate difference to comfort, warmth, and safety.
“The old front door was so warped you could see daylight around the edge. The composite door Urban Stone fitted is solid, warm, and the locks feel properly secure. It’s made the whole hallway warmer.”
— Sandra M., Hertfordshire
Park Home Doors Need to Be Different
The same principle that applies to park home windows applies to doors: standard residential products simply don’t fit properly, and the consequences of a poor fit are worse with a door than with a window.
Thinner Wall Profiles
Park homes have thinner wall profiles than brick-built houses. There are no deep reveals or recessed frames, which means standard doors leave gaps and create weak points.
Odd Leg Frame System
Our doors use the odd leg outer frame — one side extends further than the other, overlapping the external cladding to create a weathertight seal. It’s the industry standard for park homes.
Made to Measure
Park home openings aren’t standardised — sizes vary between manufacturers and models. We measure every opening individually and have each door built to those exact dimensions.
Choose Your Perfect Door Style
uPVC Entrance Doors
Lightweight, low-maintenance, and thermally efficient. Wide range of colours and woodgrain finishes — white, anthracite grey, oak, Irish oak, rosewood, chartwell green. Multi-point locking as standard.
Composite Doors
A step up in solidity and security. Solid insulating core wrapped in glass-reinforced plastic — substantially more resistant to forced entry. Heavier, feels like traditional timber. If security is your priority, composite is the way to go.
French Doors
Two full-height glazed panels swing outward to create a wide, unobstructed opening. Perfect for decking or patio areas. Multi-point locking on both doors, 28mm argon-filled double glazing with toughened safety glass.
Sliding Patio Doors
Where space is tight, sliding patio doors offer large glazed openings without needing swing room. Smooth, durable tracks with anti-lift devices and multi-point locking. Perfect for living rooms opening onto gardens.
Security & Energy Efficiency
Every door we fit includes features that make a real difference to your daily life — from keeping intruders out to keeping the heat in.
Multi-Point Locking Security
Every door locks at multiple positions around the frame — typically three to five points — rather than relying on a single lock. Force applied to one point doesn’t compromise the others. Combined with reinforced frames, internal security beading on glazed panels, and toughened glass, the result is a door that’s genuinely difficult to breach without making a lot of noise and taking a lot of time.
Composite front doors are remarkably resistant to forced entry. The solid core doesn’t flex or split the way hollow panels can, and the GRP skin withstands sustained attack. They’ll comfortably deter opportunist intruders, which is the realistic goal.
Dramatically Better Insulation
Old park home doors are often single-glazed, poorly sealed, or both. The heat loss through a single-glazed panel door on a winter evening is significant — and you can usually feel it as a cold zone around the doorway.
Our replacement doors address this from several angles. Double-glazed panels with argon gas fill and Low-E coating dramatically reduce heat transfer. Insulated door cores minimise heat loss through solid sections. And the odd leg frame with compression seals eliminates the draughts. Many customers tell us the area immediately inside the front door — previously the coldest spot in the house — becomes comfortable for the first time.
Quick, Clean, Professional
Door replacement in a park home is straightforward and relatively quick. Most single-door replacements take half a day; a full set of doors can usually be completed within a single day.
We visit first to measure and discuss your requirements. The doors are manufactured to order over the following weeks, and we return to install. The old door comes out, the new one goes in, we seal, trim, adjust, and test everything. We show you how the locks work, hand over the keys, and make sure you’re satisfied.
We protect your flooring and furnishings during the work, and all waste — old doors, packaging, offcuts — leaves with us.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I just use a standard door from a builders' merchant?
Park homes have thinner wall profiles than brick-built houses — there are no deep reveals or recessed frames. A standard door hung in a park home wall leaves gaps, creates weak points, and fails to seal against weather properly. Over time, water finds its way behind the frame, timber components soften, and what started as a draught becomes a structural issue. Our doors use the odd leg frame system specifically designed for park home construction.
How long does door replacement take?
Most single-door replacements take half a day. A full set of doors — front, rear, and perhaps a side or patio door — can usually be completed within a single day. We’ll confirm timings when we visit for your free survey.
What's the difference between uPVC and composite doors?
uPVC doors are lightweight, low-maintenance, and thermally efficient — they won’t rot, warp, or need painting. Composite doors offer a step up in both solidity and security. They’re constructed from a solid insulating core wrapped in glass-reinforced plastic, making them substantially more resistant to forced entry than uPVC alone. They’re heavier, feel more like traditional timber, and are extremely difficult to break through. If security is your primary concern, composite is the way to go.
Do I need approval from my site owner?
Yes, as with all park home alterations, you’ll need approval from your site owner before work begins. This is rarely an issue with door replacements, but it’s a step worth taking early in the process. We can advise on the approach if you’re unsure how to proceed.
What guarantees do you offer?
All our doors carry a ten-year manufacturer’s guarantee on the frames. Glazing units are guaranteed against seal failure. Hardware — locks, hinges, handles — is covered separately. We also provide our own workmanship guarantee on the installation.
Can I combine doors with windows in one project?
Absolutely. If you’re replacing doors, it’s worth considering whether the windows need attention at the same time. Doors and windows are part of the same thermal and security envelope, and upgrading one whilst leaving the other in poor condition limits the benefit. We offer matched door and window packages in the same colours and specifications, installed together for efficiency and a consistent finish. Equally, if the doors are the priority and the windows can wait, that’s fine too — there’s no pressure to do everything at once.

“Had French doors put in where the old back door was. Completely changed the living room — so much more light, and it’s lovely to open them up onto the garden in summer. Quick, tidy installation too.”
