FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I just use standard residential windows in my park home?

Park homes have thinner external walls without deep window reveals. Standard windows can’t form proper weathertight seals, which means draughts, moisture ingress and potential long-term damage. Park home windows use an “odd leg” frame design specifically engineered to overlap the external cladding and create that essential seal.

How long does park home window replacement take?

For a full set of windows on a standard twin-unit park home, installation typically takes one to two days. Manufacturing takes a few weeks beforehand since every window is made to measure for your specific home.

What's the difference between double and triple glazing?

Double glazing uses two panes with an argon-filled cavity and achieves A-rated energy performance. Triple glazing adds a third pane with two cavities for even better thermal and acoustic insulation — worthwhile for exposed positions or homes near busy roads, though it costs more and the units are heavier.

Do I need permission from my site owner?

Yes, your site owner needs to approve window replacement before work begins. Most are entirely happy with upgrades since they improve the condition of homes on the park. We can advise on how to approach this conversation.

What colours and finishes are available?

Modern uPVC comes in a range of colours and woodgrain finishes including white, anthracite grey, oak, Irish oak, rosewood and chartwell green. Today’s profiles are far slimmer and more attractive than the chunky frames from the 1990s.

Can windows be replaced as part of a larger refurbishment?

Absolutely. Many customers combine window replacement with new cladding, external wall insulation or roof work. Doing several jobs together is more efficient, and new windows integrate more neatly with new cladding when fitted together. That said, windows work perfectly well as a standalone upgrade if that’s your priority.
